From Then 'Til...

This weekend was amazing. After a small rough patch in our relationship we finally got the opportunity to just get away from it all. No kids, no work, no responsabilities, no bills, no worries. We spent the weekend in the beautiful Smokey Mountains. It was just us and a few couples in a gorgeous cabin. There was a room for each couple, a hottube out on the deck, fireplaces, alcohol, and lots of sex toys. My wife and I spent the majority of the weekend exploring each other as we did in the beginning of our dating years. It was fantastic. Sex two to three times a day non-interrupted, peruzing naked through the house as well as in the hottube, just having a genuinly pleasent free spirited time.

It seemed before this trip we, as a newly wed couple, had fallen into the rutt of a mundane exsistance. We went from having sex 8 to 10 times a week to 2 to 4 times a week seemingly over night. Went from sleeping with each other to sleeping by each other. From spending quality time with each other to playing video games with each other. It's not that I don't enjoy all these things, it's just that I genuinely miss all the others. Between her hectic work and the exhaustion she subjects herslf to on a daily basis because of it and our four children, there just isn't much room for "us" in her brain. And so here we are, at home and back to the same old same old. From Paradise to the entrance way to limbo.

While away at the cabin we rekindled our flame and breathed new life in to our seemingly fizzling relationship, and swore to each other we would strive to not lose sight of what was most important: our relationship. Since we've been back... well, let's just say what happened in the Smokey's stayed in the Smokey's. Anyway, I honestly feel it's the house. Whether it's all the clutter or the overall energies of the house something is just draining the life from our happy marriage. I hope we can get back to the past to make "us" a very long loving and lasting future. If not, we're FUCKED!
